Did You Know the Holy Spirit is Praying for YOU?

Romans 8 tells us, “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”  Do you know why God causes all things to work together for our good?

We can find one of the big reasons for this when we back up a few verses in the chapter.  Romans 8 tells us that the Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses and one way He does this is by praying for us!  Can you wrap your mind around that?  If you are a believer then the Holy Spirit is actually interceding for you before the Father.  There is communication going on within the Trinity on your behalf!  The Holy Spirit is communicating with the Father with groaning too deep for words.

We don’t always know the best way to pray, sometimes we pray amiss and God has to give us “no” or “wait” for an answer.  Not so with the Holy Spirit, He always gets His prayers answered with an affirmative “yes” because Scripture tells us He consistently prays according to the will of the Father.

When we look at God’s character we see that His is infinitely good and that He desires, or wills good for His children, the Holy Spirit knows this and prays accordingly.  This is why we can trust that God will cause all things to work together for our good.

Our good does not necessarily mean comfort or prosperity but conformity to Christ’s image.  Before the world began He called us out and chose us to be heirs with Christ.  During this life time we are being continually conformed to His image and one day our conformity will be complete, we will receive glorified bodies and minds.  This is the greatest good that could ever be given to us!

Whenever you are feeling discouraged or realizing your weak frame due to the results of the Fall, comfort yourself with the assurance that the Holy Spirit is there for you, helping you in your weakness and interceding for YOU with deep, earnest groanings!

“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.”  -Romans 8:26-30 {NASB}
